Installing Modpacks on Chunkly

Deploy CurseForge and Modrinth modpacks with minimal friction.

Method 1: One-Click Installer in Panel

The easiest way to set up a modpack:

  1. Stop your server from the main dashboard.
  2. Go to the Modpacks tab in your server panel.
  3. Browse or search for your pack (e.g. All The Mods 10, Cobblemon, or Better MC).
  4. Select the desired pack version and click Install Modpack.
  5. The installer will automatically configure the correct loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge), download all necessary mod jars, server configs, and generate world files.
  6. Click Start to boot the server.

Method 2: Manual Server Pack Upload via SFTP

For custom modpacks or unlisted packs with a dedicated server zip from CurseForge:

  1. Download the Server Pack zip file from CurseForge or Modrinth.
  2. Extract the zip archive on your local computer.
  3. Connect to your Chunkly server using an SFTP client (see our SFTP Guide).
  4. Upload the mods/, config/, and defaultconfigs/ folders to your server root directory.
  5. Verify under the Software tab that your server loader and game version match the pack requirements.
  6. Start your server and check the Console for the initial generation output.

Important Client Advice

Remind all players joining your server that they must install the exact same modpack version on their CurseForge / Modrinth / Prism Launcher app, otherwise the connection will be rejected with an “Incompatible Mod List” screen.
