Acceptable Use & Reporting Illegal Content
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Translations of this page are provided for convenience. If the English version and a translation differ, the English version prevails, except where mandatory consumer law of your country requires otherwise.
Chunkly is provided by GATEX LIMITED (company number 16888067, England and Wales) (see Legal notice). This policy is part of our Terms.
1. Acceptable use
You may not use Chunkly, or let others use your server, to:
- break any law, or store or share illegal content, including child sexual abuse material (which we report to the authorities), terrorist content or illegal hate speech;
- harass, threaten or dox people;
- distribute malware, run phishing, or send spam;
- attack other systems: DDoS, scanning, exploiting vulnerabilities, or running booters/stressers;
- mine cryptocurrency, or use the server for anything other than running a Minecraft server and its normal plugins/mods;
- infringe copyright or other rights, including distributing pirated content;
- get around plan limits, payment or bans, or abuse free plans or discount codes;
- break the Minecraft EULA or Mojang's usage guidelines.
2. How we moderate
We do not monitor servers in general. We act on reports and on technical abuse signals. Depending on how serious it is, we may: warn you, remove or disable content, restrict server features, suspend a server, or close an account. We may use automated tools to detect network abuse (DDoS, excessive resource use). Content decisions are taken by a person.
3. Report illegal content (notice and action)
Anyone can report content on Chunkly they believe is illegal. Email [email protected]. Please include:
- why you think the content is illegal;
- the exact location: server address/IP, world or server name, and any other details we need to find it;
- your name and email address (not needed for reports of child sexual abuse material);
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your report is accurate and complete.
We confirm receipt, handle reports carefully, objectively and on time, and tell you our decision and how you can challenge it. If we think a criminal offence threatens someone's life or safety, we inform the police.
4. Statement of reasons and appeal
If we restrict your content or account, we tell you, unless the law prevents this:
- what we did and how far it goes;
- the facts and circumstances;
- whether automated means were used;
- the legal ground or the terms clause involved;
- how you can appeal.
You can contest any decision within 6 months by emailing [email protected]. A person who was not involved in the original decision reviews it. You can also go to court, or use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under DSA Art. 21. We may suspend users who frequently send clearly unfounded reports, or who frequently provide clearly illegal content, after warning them.
5. Points of contact (DSA)
- Single point of contact for EU Member State authorities, the Commission and the Board (DSA Art. 11): [email protected]. Languages: English, Dutch, German.
- Single point of contact for users (DSA Art. 12): [email protected]. Languages: English, Dutch, German. This is not handled by automated tools alone.
6. Transparency
As a micro enterprise, GATEX LIMITED is exempt from the Art. 15 transparency report. We still keep internal records of notices and decisions.
